Beautiful, timeless portraits.

Most newborn and baby sessions take place in my studio in Green Bay, WI.  During the warmer months, we can do family or child sessions outdoors at a location of your choice (there may be an additional fee for travel outside of Green Bay/De Pere).  Newborn sessions can be done in your home as well for an additional $50 (there may also be an additional travel fee as well).

F.A.Q.

What is included in my session fee?

The time and talent of your photographer, access to all of my props, and an online gallery with 20 + images to choose from.

Are the digital images included?  Do I get the copyright?  Print release?

Digital negatives and prints are not included in the session fee.  Package prices include the session fee as well as digital negatives and prints.  The images will remain the copyright of Melissa Hurst Photography, but when purchasing the digital images, you will receive a print release that will allow you to have them printed where ever you wish for personal use only.  All digital purchases include a print credit to use towards professional prints, products, and canvas (no print credit with mini sessions).

Why is the benefit of buying prints through you?  Why are they so expensive?

Getting your images printed through my professional lab ensures that they will look as I have intended them to look.  As your professional photographer, I spend a lot (and I mean, A LOT) of time editing them so that the color is true to how I want them to look.  My computer is calibrated so that the colors I see as I am editing match those of my print lab.   Photo labs from retail chains are not calibrated, and also tend to add extra contrast, sharpening, and other strange colors to your images that leave them looking not so pretty.  If you are paying a premium to get your photos taken by a professional photographer, it would be silly to have them printed at a regular photo lab.  Professional prints are also printed on archival paper and will therefore outlast other prints.  Another very important benefit is that you will actually get them printed!  I, too, am guilty of not getting my images printed as much as I should.  What should happen if your computer would crash, or if you were to lose or damage your disk/USB of images?

How long can I expect my session to last?

Newborn sessions last anywhere from 1.5 hours – 3 hours.   It depends on many factors, including how ofter baby needs to eat or be changed/cleaned, how sleepy baby is, if baby is content or not, etc.

Baby or family sessions last anywhere from 30 minutes  - 1 hours.

Maternity sessions last from 30 minutes – 1 hour.

Mini sessions are 10-15 minutes.
